The Allen Eagle BUG (Boots, Utes, and Guidons) Race is a special JROTC division within the larger Allen Eagle Run, an event with a proud 17-year tradition. The BUG Race is designed to foster teamwork, unit pride, and healthy competition among JROTC units. By participating, your unit will not only engage in an adrenaline-charged challenge but also contribute toa cause that supports Allen teachers and students through special program
funding and scholarships.​

08:30 5K Allen Eagle B-U-G Race

B-U-G RULES: Each team of 4 runners will complete the 5K race wearing Boots & Utes, in 2x2 formation, and carrying their unit’s Guidon. The Guidon may be passed from one member to the other and members may trade positions In the formation, but the formation must be maintained throughout the entire race.

LOCATION: The B-U-G Race start/finish and all activities will be held outside Eagle Stadium in the East (visitor) parking lot. Eagle Stadium is located on the Allen High School Campus at 155 Rivercrest Boulevard, Allen, TX

​

AWARDS: The Fastest Team will receive individual medals as well as a Perpetual Trophy to keep for the year, until the next race. Additionally, the fastest male and fastest female will receive individual medals.

RESULTS: Finish Line management and Bib Timing are provided by Compton Time & Measure. Full Results will be posted shortly after the event.​

 

RACE PACKETS: Race packets include t-shirt, race bib, information, and link to flyers and coupons. Packet pick up times and location will be communicated with JROTC Instructor/Teams who completed registration.

WAIVERS REQUIRED FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS

The BUG Race aims to foster a spirit of camaraderie among JROTC units while challenging cadets physically and mentally.

Event serves as an excellent recruitment and retention tool, offering participants a memorable experience and the pride of representing their unit.

Detailed race day instructions, including check-in times, uniform requirements, and course rules, will be provided upon receipt of your registration.
